The engineering process is the sequence of steps used by engineers to create functional processes and products. It is an iterative process that can be used to create prototypes or improve existing solutions. The process of engineering design is similar to the scientific method, but differs in the way that scientists conduct experiments whereas engineers apply their imagination and design.

Develop Ideas
Engineers can pick from a variety of methods to generate solutions, ranging anywhere from brainstorming to discussions to 2D CAD modeling and animation. Examining and comparing the solutions to the specifications of the problem will help determine the most effective solution.
